Our Family of Parishes’ Truth and Reconciliation Dialogue Group has provided a picture of St. Kateri for display in each of our parishes. St. Kateri [1656 - 1680] is the first North American Indigenous person elevated to sainthood, canonized by Pope Benedict 10/21/2012. Seeing her picture as we enter church provides an opportunity to reflect on the connection of the Church to the history of Canada and the country’s treatment of its Indigenous peoples.
