The Cemetery was established at this  location in 1874 with the purchase of 9.9 acres of land at a cost of $ 2300.00, and was blessed by Bishop Walsh.

The remains of the deceased who were buried at the old location up town next to the church on the east side were transferred to the new location to make way for the new church and school.

The Cemetery averages 50 interments including cremations per year.
